So many of
our families have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even though our doors are currently closed to the public, we continue
to help individuals and families with food, helping them pay
portions of their rent, utility, mortgage payments, along with
helping them with other services or needs they may have. Since our
closure, on March 17, our Outreach staff has helped more than 3,000 individuals. Due to
the COVID-19 pandemic, one of our clients was laid off and was not
eligible for unemployment. With no income, Sarah was
struggling to pay all of her bills and had a disconnection notice
on her utilities for the very next day. After speaking with
our staff, we were able to help her keep the lights on in her
home. "I am so thankful to Community Action
Agency," Sarah said. "I was down on my luck and they have
helped me get back on my feet so I can continue to provide for my
family." Sarah's story is just one of many that we have heard
during this pandemic. If you or someone you know is
struggling, please call us at 712-274-1610 or click on the link to find out more about our services ››
