Community Action Agency of Siouxland CAAS 2009 ENERGY ASSISTANCE (LIHEAP)

LIHEAP helps qualified low-income individuals by paying a portion of their primary heating costs. Income eligibility is based on 150% of current income guidelines.

The Community Action Agency of Siouxland takes applications for energy assistance from November 1 through April 15. Eligibility for participation is established according to the federal income guidelines listed below. Applicants that are eligible for an award will be paid on a first come, first served basis and all payments are subject to availability of funds.

You will be asked to bring in proof of income to determine eligibility.

  • Federal Income Tax Return for 2007 or 2008
  • Past 13 weeks of check stubs
  • Current Child Support printout or Case number
  • Current Title XIX cards

  • Unemployment printout (Iowa Workforce (712)233-9037
  • Veterens benefits (VA office (712)279-6606)
  • Rent reciept with landlord's name, address, and telephone number
  • Current heat and electric vendor bills
  • Social Security numbers and birth dates of ALL household members
